Class Descriptions:
*NEW CLASS* PRE-SCHOOL MONART
This class is geared for the Attention Span, Motor Coordination, and Developmental Level of the three to four year old. Using the traditional Monart Elements of Shape preschoolers will be guided in exercises for Eye-Hand Coordination. Teaches how the Elements of Shape helps Recognition of Alphabet, Numbers, and Graphic Images. Includes games through Crafts, Music, Movement, and simple Drawings. Teaches concentration, ability of follow directions, and proficiency in Pre-Drawing and Reading Readiness.
Ages: 3-5 (Preschool - Kindergarten)

GETTING READY
An introduction to representational drawing. Geared to the attention
span of a 4-6 year old. Teaches recognition of Elements of Shape in the
visual world. The teacher demonstrates the construction of 2-Dimensional
images in step-by-step instructions. Choices of Detail and Background
Images are introduced. Projects are based on creatures from nature and
objects from the world of a 4-6 year old.

Duration: 60 minutes
BASIC
Students learn representational drawing through
elements of shape and progress into more complex
projects. This class is geared to the attention span and motor
coordination of a 6-8 year old. Teaches the Independent Recognition of the
Elements of Shape and how they can us used to draw the images in the visual
world. Includes various choices of how to interpret details and
backgrounds. There are step by step instructions which include
2-Dimentional images and 3-Dimensional objects for the main subject of a lesson.
Individual Creativity is encouraged. Projects are based on creatures from
nature and objects from around the world.
Ages: 6-8
Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes
DRAWING FUNDAMENTALS
This class is geared for the Attention Span and Motor Coordination of an 8-12
year old and includes a progression of guided lessons towards Independent
Drawing Skills. Fine art skills of Proportion, Perspective, Composition,
Shading and Light Logic are introduced. Understanding the proportions of
the Human Form is also covered in this class. Students will be encouraged
to complete projects while developing their own style and creative approach.
Media: Graphite Pencil, Chalk Pastel, Oil Pastel, Markers, Colored Pencil, and Water Color
Ages: 8 and older (Age 7 if have attended Basic Drawing for 1 year)
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
INTERMEDIATE DRAWING
Drawing classes for students who have completed Drawing Fundamentals or have taken drawing classes similar to Drawing Fundamentals at another location. Students enrolling in this class are individuals who have mastered the ability to achieve Basic 3-Dimensionality, using light logic. They are also confident to choose various media with a particular project and possess the skills to achieve Basic Proportion and Perspective. THESE STUDENTS NEED TO DEMONSTRATE A CONSISTENT PATTERN OF STAYING FOCUSED AND QUITE FOR A TWO HOUR CLASS AND THE ABILITY TO PUT A HIGH DEGREE OF EFFORT INTO THEIR WORK.
Projects will introduce more complex components and detail as well as abstract and expressionistic styles of drawing. Students will be introduced to working from live models and will be challenged to create projects independently. Students are encouraged to have supplies at home to finish complex projects.
